IAP Pune conducted half day CME on Investigations in Pediatric practice on 10thApril 2022. Renowned faculties participated in CME including Dr Palani Raman, the academician from Chennai were participated in this CME. Other faculties were Dr Sandeep Kadam, Dr Anand Deshpande, Dr Shilpa Kalane, Dr Umesh Vaidya, Dr Sachin Shah, Dr Pamod Kulkarni, Dr, Maithili Kavathekar, Dr Palani Raman, Dr Mangalmoorti Bhalerao, Dr Ambrishkumar Mishra, Dr Sanjay Mankar, Dr Disha padalkar, Dr Piyush Chaudhari, Dr Bharat Purandare, Dr Sonali Sanghavi, Dr Sarita Verma, Dr Rumma Manchanda, Dr Shailesh Kanvinde & Dr Sandeep Bartakke. CME was attended by 150 Pediatricians.
IAP Pune is organised webinar on dIAP platform on 12th April 2022 at 3 pm on Pediatric Dermatology - exanthems and enanthems. The faculty was Dr. Malathi Manisamy. The session was followed by question answer session.
IAP Pune organised Public awareness rally from IAP Pune office to saras Baug on 13th April 2022. Developmental Pediatricians from Pune were participated in rally viz Dr Sunil Godbole, Dr Leena Shrivastav, Dr Sharmila Patil, Dr Jai Joshi and Dr Ashwini kulkarni with Team IAPPUNE. Placards displayed for public and short talks given to group of people.
On 14th April 2022, Indian Academy of Pediatrics Pune branch arranged special webinar with Eaton Technologies Pvt. Ltd., on the occasion of Autism Awareness Month, April 2022. Mrs Gitanjali Malshe from Eaton company started the session by welcoming the faculty and delegates. Dr Parag Gaikwad, President, Pune IAP introduced the concept of Autism awareness and role of Indian Academy of Pediatrics Pune in conducting these awareness program. Dr Sunil Godbole, Developmental Pediatrician and National Secretary of Growth Development and Behaviour Pediatric chapter of IAP, delivered a crisp and simple presentation about how to recognize and manage parental burnout especially for parents managing children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This well appreciated lecture was followed by numerous parenting questions which were ably answered by Dr Sunil Godbole. Dr Deepak Mulay, Secretary, IAP Pune made the concluding remarks followed by vote of thanks by Mrs Geetanjali Malshe. Workshop was attended by more than 200 parents.
On 15th, 16th and 17th of April 2022, IAP Pune conducted the first physical BLS and ALS course in the post pandemic era. The PALS course was conducted at Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical college and hospital and was a roaring success. It was attended by 36 residents from across various institutes in the city of Pune. The faculty for both the courses included Dr Sanjay Bafna (Course director), Dr Gayatri Bhide, Dr Sagar Lad, Dr Jaipratibha Varshney, Dr Ajay Walimbe, Dr Priyanka Badjate, Dr Guruprasad Shankar and Dr Bhakti Sarangi (Course coordinator). The BLS module on day 1 was followed by 2 days of extensive training in advanced life support with all the skills and new learning thoroughly being enjoyed by the residents involved. This was the first of a series of BLS / ALS courses that IAP has planned to conduct this year for residents, fellows, practising pediatricians and nurses.
Early Childhood Development workshop on conducted on 17th April 2022 at Navale Medical College, Pune Faculties were Dr Samir Dalwai, Dr Suchit Tamboli, Dr Anurag Pangrikar and Dr Sanjay Natu. Workshop were attended by 40 delegates. Innovative concepts of ECD clinic discussed and work stations were very interactive. Observer faculties were Dr Anand Deshpande and Dr Deepak Mulay.
An autism awareness activity was carried out with IAPPUNE at Bharati hospital on 20th April by Dr Leena Srivastava. Information about early identification and anticipatory guidance regarding stimulation, play and screen time was given by Dr Leena Srivastava, Development Pediatrician and the team at the Child Development and Behavior Centre. This was followed by interaction with the parents
Fifth session of PG Clinic case discussion was organised on 20th April 2022. Dr Suparna Gadgil from Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital & Research Centre, Pune presented the case. Faulties were Dr Sampada Tambolkar & Dr Sandeep Bartakke. Conveners were Dr. Rajesh Kulkarni and Dr Sarita Kokane. Co conveners was Dr Anand Deshpande. Topic was “9 year old female with h/o fever, polyarthritis and Hepato-splenomegaly”. It was excellent case presentation.
\IAP Pune conducted vaccine (Influenza) symposium on 24th April 2022 at Hotel JW Marriott Pune. Senior Pediatricians Dr Pramod Jog and Dr Jagdish Dhekne delivered shorts talk. There was very interactive questions and answers session.
